
Alex Szekeres
Research Engineer (2019-2022)
Dr. Alex Szekeres is a Research Engineer at Carleton University’s Energy and Emissions Research Laboratory (EERL), primarily supporting and designing experimental research in the Flare Laboratory studying flare-generated pollutant emissions. His work is directly supporting ongoing flaring research and coordinating large scale collaborative experiments with researchers from across the FlareNet Network. Dr. Szekeres’ doctoral research at Queen’s University focused on lowering greenhouse gas emissions in the residential energy sector, and previous work included advancing rapid prototyping techniques at Queen’s University and at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Dr. Szekeres also has industrial experience as a mechanical engineer managing projects involving the design, fabrication, and installation of customized manufacturing equipment.
