Rodrigo Brenner Miguel
Ph.D. Candidate, 2022
Research Area: Development and testing of optical gas diagnostics
Rodrigo is a Ph.D. student at the University of Waterloo, supervised by Prof. Kyle Daun. His doctoral project involves the development and application of optical diagnostics to measure emissions from oil and gas flares. This work falls under Theme 5 of the NSERC FlareNet Strategic Network. Rodrigo completed his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2015. His master’s thesis combined techniques of inverse analyses, combustion, and radiative transfer to estimate the heat flux from open flames.
